Danbury House Fire Erupts From BBQ Accident, Multiple Crews Respond
A two-alarm fire in Danbury, sparked by a backyard BBQ, drew firefighters from multiple towns. No injuries reported.
DANBURY, CT — Firefighters from around the area tackled a two-alarm house fire on Saturday, caused by a barbecue on the back porch.
The Danbury 911 Center began receiving calls for a house on fire on Hoyt Street shortly before 10 a.m. First responders from the Danbury Fire Department found a two-and-a-half story residence with heavy fire pouring from the second floor exterior staircase.
A report on Facebook placed the blame on a back porch barbecue fire that ignited the nearby propane and spread to the second floor.

The second alarm was transmitted, bringing firefighters from Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company, Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company, Bethel Fire & EMS, New Fairfield Fire Department, Wilton Fire Department and more local companies.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, and no injuries were reported. The American Red Cross is assisting with the six residents who were displaced.
