Danbury Man Sold Drugs With Child In Tow: Police
Citizen complaints led to investigation into the suspect's drug dealing activities in the city, police say.

DANBURY, CT — A city man was arrested Wednesday on drug and other charges after he was seen conducting a drug deal with his one-year-old daughter waiting in his car, Danbury police Lt. Mark Williams announced Thursday. Police say the arrest of Xavier Bishop, 22, was the culmination of a weeks-long investigation into citizen complaints of Bishop selling crack cocaine within the city.
Police say they conducted surveillance of Bishop's and used other investigative techniques to determine that he was trafficking drugs within the city, and a search and seizure warrant was issued as a result. To sign up for Danbury breaking news alerts and more, click here.
On Wednesday, Police say Bishop was seen leaving his Spring Street home with a one-year-old child in his 2014 Hyundai Sonata. He was later seen driving through city streets and conducting a hand-to-hand drug transaction on Pleasant Street, and was later arrested after being stopped by a marked patrol car.

Police say at the time of the arrest, the state's department of Children and Families temporarily removed Bishop's daughter and another child from care of their parents.
Police say investigators later searched Bishop's home and found "a substantial amount" of crack cocaine, marijuana, money and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with risk of injury to a child, sale and of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school narcotics possession, possession of a controlled substance among other charges.

He was held at the Danbury Police Department on a $100,000 bond.
