Danbury Police Seize Drugs, Firearm Following Investigation
Danbury police seized fentanyl, cocaine, and a firearm following an investigation into drug activity, resulting in multiple charges.
DANBURY, CT — Detectives from the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division, assisted by officers from the Community Conditions Unit, took a Waterbury man into custody on March 14 following a months-long investigation into drug activity. Authorities launched the operation after receiving multiple complaints from residents regarding suspected narcotics sales.
The ma, identified as Ramell Rayon Crawford, 29, was already known to law enforcement due to previous cases involving weapons and narcotics. Investigators had obtained court-authorized search warrants for his person, cell phone, an apartment he frequented, and the vehicle he used.
While conducting surveillance at the apartment, detectives observed Crawford arrive in a vehicle and park in the driveway. As officers approached, he attempted to flee on foot but was quickly detained. Law enforcement then executed the search and seizure warrants, leading to the recovery of approximately 3 ounces of fentanyl, 3 ounces of cocaine, a 9mm untraceable firearm commonly referred to as a "ghost gun," a large sum of cash, an electronic scale, and other packaging materials.
