Danbury Police To Step Up Parking Enforcement

DANBURY, CT — Starting Monday, the Danbury Police Department Traffic Division will increase its parking enforcement in the city, "to ensure safe and accessible streets for everyone," officials said in a Facebook post.

"Those who decide to park illegally are subject to a $100 fine," officials said, adding the increased enforcement is slated to end on June 23.

Among the key points for drivers:

• Check Signs: Always read parking signs carefully.
• Handicap Spaces: If you park in a handicap spot, a VALID handicap placard or license plate must be displayed.
• Fire Lanes: Parking in a fire lane is prohibited at all times. It is crucial to have this space available for emergency vehicles.
