Danbury Prison Inspires Tell-All Book From Michael Douglas' Son
Piper Kerman, Teresa Guidice and now Cameron Douglas — all with connections to and stories of Danbury's Federal Corrections Institution.
DANBURY, CT — If Danbury prison walls could talk they'd inspire yet another tell-all Hollywood book — and apparently they have. Daily Mail is reporting that actor Michael Douglas' son Cameron is the latest in celebrities who will write about time spent at Danbury Federal Corrections Institution. The FCI also played temporary home to "The Real Housewives of New Jersey's" Teresa Guidice and Piper Kerman, the inspiration behind "Orange is the New Black."
Cameron Douglas, 37, the oldest son of Michael Douglas, was recently released from prison after seven years behind bars for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, according to Daily Mail, who says he will write about his struggle of being the son and grandson of Hollywood icons and what led to his 7-year incarceration, which included two years of solitary confinement.
Danbury Federal Correction prison records show that Cameron Douglas, also known as "Inmate number 70707-054," was released from Danbury FCI and transferred to New York RRM, a halfway house in Brookyln, New York. The previously all-female institution now houses male inmates after operating as a women’s facility for 20 years.

The transition is reportedly due to overcrowding at other low-security facilities nationwide, but a source said, “Now that they are moving the women out and putting the men there, it is tougher than it used to be. They used to have crochet classes for women, but they’re not going to do that any more.”
Guidice was granted early release from Danbury FCI in January, 2015, according to the Federal Bureau of Prison's website. She reportedly told her two youngest daughters she was going away for research to work on a book about prison, according to The New York Daily News.

A report by Inquisitr offers several excerpts from Giudice’s diary, which chronicles her life while incarcerated at the Federal Correction Institution in Danbury, including what she ate for lunch:
“I went to lunch at 10:20. I had tater tots, a soy burger that was so gross and orange! I also had some potato salad. They feed us so much here. I’m going to have potatoes coming out of my ears soon!”
Cameron is the son of Michael and ex-wife Diandra Douglas, who divorced in 2000 after 23 years of marriage, according to E! News.
