Danbury Public Schools appoints new principal of the Reach/Endeavor Program to support students in alternative learning for 2025
DANBURY, CT — Danbury Public Schools has appointed Bill Kersten as the new principal of the Reach/Endeavor Program for the 2025-26 school year.
Kersten brings nearly 20 years of experience working with Danbury students, most recently serving as a supervisor within the Academy of Western Connecticut at Danbury High School. The academy supports students who have met graduation requirements but need additional guidance in social and vocational areas. He has also taught special education for almost two decades, coached lacrosse and cross-country, and briefly coordinated athletic events at Danbury High School.
The Reach/Endeavor Program offers alternative learning environments for students in grades 6-12 who are placed there for various administrative reasons, aiming to help them return to a traditional school setting.
