Danbury Schools Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar

DANBURY, CT — Summer is almost over for Danbury students. The first day of classes for students will be Aug. 27. It will be a full day for Grades 1-12, and a half-day for Kindergarten students.

The new state law regarding the Kindergarten age requirement begins with the start of the new 2024-2025 fiscal year. Now, students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1.

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

  • Start date: Aug. 27
  • First full day of school for Kindergarten: Aug. 30
  • Labor Day, no school: Sept. 2
  • Professional development day, early dismissal: Sept. 10
  • Professional development day, early dismissal: Sept. 24
  • Rosh Hashanah, no school: Oct. 3
  • Professional development day, early dismissal: Oct. 8
  • Columbus Day, no school: Oct. 14
  • Professional development day, early dismissal: Oct. 22
  • Professional development day, no school: Nov. 5
  • Veterans' Day, no school: Nov. 11
  • Family-teacher conferences (Elementary schools early dismissal): Nov. 12-14
  • Family-teacher conferences (Middle schools early dismissal): Nov. 18-20
