Danbury Woman Left Crash Scene, Charged with DUI: Police
Police say she was also driving on a suspended license.

DANBURY, CT — A local woman was arrested for driving under the influence and other charges after police say she left the scene of a crash on Main Street Monday, according to Danbury Police. Police say a car driven by Geisyan Pereira Gomes, 24, Danbury crashed into another car traveling in the opposite lane in the intersection of Main and West Street before leaving the scene.
The man told police he was driving through the Liberty Street and Main Street intersection towards West Street when Gomes' car turned in front of his car and crashed into him. He refused medical attention at the scene. However, he was later arrested for driving a vehicle with a suspended license. To sign up for Danbury breaking news alerts and more, click here.
Police say they found the license plate of Gomes' vehicle at the scene and located the car near the intersection of Smith and Downs Street. Police say she failed standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Gomes was charges with evading responsibility, driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, operating a vehicle under suspension and failure to yield while turning left at an intersection. She was released on a $5,000 bond and issued a court date of May 4.
