
The first chorus rehearsal for the Danbury Music Centre’s annual performance of Handel’s Messiah is Nov. 22, 7:30 p.m., at the Danbury Music Centre. The performance is at The First Congregational Church on the corner of Deer Hill Avenue and West Street on Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m.
All area singers are invited to participate, provided they are able to attend at least three of the four Tuesday rehearsals. The dress rehearsal on December 15, is mandatory.
Participation is free to members of the Danbury Music Centre at the $50 and higher level. There is a $25 charge for all other singers.
Pre-registration is required.
Christine R. Howlett, Music Director and Conductor of the Danbury Concert Chorus, will direct the Danbury Concert Chorus and Chamber Orchestra.
Joining the chorus and orchestra are soloists Courtney Budd, soprano; Jacquelyn Matava, mezzo; James Ruff, tenor; and Curtis Streetman, baritone.
Singers may borrow Messiah music from the Danbury Music Centre or use their own Schirmer edition vocal score. Scores will be loaned on a first-come, first-served basis.
