Helen M. Karas, 106, of Danbury, Passed Away

DANBURY, CT — Helen M. Karas, age 106, of Danbury, formerly of Sherman, CT, died Monday, July 18, 2016 at Genesis Glen Hill Center, Danbury. She was the wife of the late Stephen A. Karas.

Helen was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 3, 1910, the daughter of the late Wladyslawa and Aleksander Bogdanowski.

Helen was mother to the late Florence E. Froeder and her husband Ernest Froeder of New Fairfield, CT. She is survived by sons: Thomas A. Karas and his wife Wendy of Bayside, NY, Thaddeus P. Karas and his wife Marie of Sherman, CT, and two Grandsons: Brian and John Karas.

She had been a Sherman resident for 25 years before moving into assisted living at “The Gardens”, Danbury in 2004.

Funeral services and burial at Coburn Cemetery, Sherman, CT will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
