Kenosia Ave. Bridge Work to Cause Traffic Woes

The city says the concrete sides of the bridge need to be replaced, and work will take several months. Work is set to start next week.

DANBURY, CT — City officials say that the Kenosia Avenue Bridge over Still River is in need of some work, which could cause detours and road closures over the next few months. The city announced Thursday that the concrete sides of the bridge and edges of the deck on both sides have deteriorated and need to be replaced. The bridge will be completely closed to traffic during certain times to facilitate the work.

The first road closure will be on Monday, May 8, and an alternating traffic pattern will start on May 9. The travel lane width over the bridge will be reduced to one 14-foot-wide lane to allow traffic to alternately pass. One side of the bridge will remain open at a time.
