Dear Editor,

I used to volunteer with the HERO Project, an organization that was devoted to raising awareness about the opioid crisis in the Greater Danbury Area. Raghib Allie-Brennan also used to volunteer for this organization, and this is one of the reasons he has my support on November 8th to be reelected to the State Assembly.

In a recent speech, Raghib pointed out the truth that opioid addiction is not a moral failing but is a disease that requires compassion and care to combat. He has fought to lower barriers to treatment and increase the intelligent use of evidence-based approaches to solving the crisis of addiction. He has spent his time in Hartford working on bipartisan legislation. He has worked with the HERO project, the Morrisey family in New Milford, and the Olson family in Bethel to further the cause. He supported us as we raised funds and awareness at our Chime fundraiser, and he was also a big supporter of our Overdose Awareness Vigils. Both of these events were at the Bethel United Methodist Church.
