Letter: 'Roberto Alves For Mayor Of Danbury'

"For 20 years we've seen what governing in the shadows looks like, but it's time we break the cycle..."

Letter to the Editor:

For the past 20 years, Danbury has been stuck under leadership that lacks empathy, transparency and a desire to make meaningful change. It’s clear now more than ever that our city needs a principled, bold leader to lift up every Danbury resident. That’s why I am supporting Councilman Roberto Alves to be the next mayor of Danbury.

I can tell you firsthand that Roberto knows that having an open, transparent government that is responsive to its residents is the only way we can improve our schools, roads, and unlock the full potential of our city.

As a city councilman, Roberto has been vocal about the importance of transparency in government. Committed to not only delivering results for Danbury, but doing so in an honest way, Roberto believes in a government that is firmly held accountable by its constituents.

For 20 years we’ve seen what governing in the shadows looks like, but it’s time we break the cycle -- we can’t afford to uphold the deceitful status-quo that has plagued City Hall and Danbury for too long.

Everything Roberto has done in Danbury has been people and grassroots driven. His campaign for Mayor now is no different. I am excited to join Roberto in his mission to transform Danbury, and I hope you will, too.

Sincerely,
Belinda Aiken
