Letter: In Support of Farley Santos and Joe Britton

"I encourage the residents of the 4th Ward to vote for Farley Santos and Joe Britton for City Council..."

To the Editor,

I’m writing this letter in support of Councilman Farley Santos and his running mate BOE Member Joe Britton for 4th Ward City Council. Farley was my mentor at Henry Abbott Technical High School from 2012 to 2015. We met through the in-school mentoring program offered by the Danbury Schools and Business Connection which Farley volunteered with. Though I was unsure of having another mentor again, I’m glad that Farley and I were matched up. We would meet once per week at the school library or the cafeteria during lunch and we’d talk, laugh and quickly, we became friends. His words of advice and support helped me through many tough moments and his encouragement still does today. We’ve remained friends after I graduated. He’s always there with an uplifting word. I’ve witnessed his devotion to his family and his community and am inspired by it. As I drive through Danbury’s 4th Ward, it’s nice to see the amount of support that he and his running mate Joe Britton have garnered. Farley’s work ethic, values, and determination to do better for his community are a driving force for him. Farley and Joe are results driven as well. Together from their positions on the Council and BOE, they’ve been able to address maintenance issues that had long been neglected at Shelter Rock School, have had needed signage installed and were able to get basketball hoops installed for the neighborhood kids.

As much as Farley is proud of me, I’m proud of him and of the example he sets of love for your community and the need to give back. I wish I lived in Danbury’s 4th Ward to vote for them. I encourage the residents of the 4th Ward to vote for Farley Santos and Joe Britton for City Council.
