Letter: In Support of Roberto Alves For Danbury Mayor
"Roberto knows that the best disinfectant is sunlight; and after the past 20 years of leadership, city hall needs a whole lot of sun..."
To The Editor:
When a person gets too comfortable at their job, especially when they work for the taxpayers, they become out of touch, distant from the people they’re meant to serve. For too long now in Danbury, we have had exactly that: comfortable job-seekers who are out of touch with the problems of ordinary people. But finally, Danbury, we can elect a Mayor who has the perfect combination of experience and empathy. That’s why, on November 2nd, I’ll be voting for Councilman Roberto Alves for Mayor.
A near-lifelong resident of Danbury, Roberto was first elected to city council in 2019. Since taking office, he has always put his constituents first. Roberto will never back down from a fight if it is in the best interest of the people of Danbury. I have seen up close how seriously Roberto takes his responsibilities as a member of the City Council.

There is perhaps no greater responsibility an elected official has than being transparent. That is why Roberto fought for increased transparency on Danbury’s 2020 bond package. Roberto knows that the best disinfectant is sunlight; and after the past 20 years of leadership, city hall needs a whole lot of sun.
Roberto is, above all else, an honest broker. He has taken his time on the City Council to connect with his constituents and improve our daily lives. Roberto Alves has the right kind of experience. And that is why, Danbury, we must elect him to be our next Mayor.
