Luck o' the Irish was with Patrick Barry, $30K Lottery Winner
The Danbury man purchased his winning ticket in Bethel.
DANBURY, CT — Patrick Barry of Danbury said he normally doesn’t play “30X Cash 3rd Edition” but his hot streak of good luck was too much to resist, he told CT Lottery officials. Barry recently cashed in on a $30,000 win at the CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill, continuing his string of good luck.
Barry won two raffles recently and said he was pretty confident when he played his ticket. “I scratched the ticket and said ‘Hey—I think I just won 30,000 dollars on this ticket!” To make sure, Barry said he, “had to pull a calculator to do the math.”
After using the Ticket Checker to confirm his winnings, Barry knew he won and quickly drove to his parent’s house to put it in a safe.
Barry told Lottery officials that the money will help pay off some bills and said that he is looking forward to enjoying the rest of summer.
Sam’s Food Store located on 295 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel will receive a $300 check from the CT Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
