Norwalk Motorist Injured In Collision With Metro-North Train: Report
Metro-North Danbury Branch service had been suspended in both directions between South Norwalk and Wilton following the collision.
DANBURY, CT — The driver of a pickup truck in Norwalk was seriously injured Wednesday morning when his vehicle was struck by a Metro-North train at the crossing in the Devine Bros. yard on Commerce Street in Norwalk around 11:20 a.m., according to a report on NBC Connecticut.
Metro-North Danbury Branch service was then suspended in both directions between South Norwalk and Wilton, and the train service was replaced by buses on the Danbury Branch between South Norwalk and Wilton. The railroad alerted commuters on Twitter shortly after noon Wednesday.
The driver was taken to Norwalk Hospital, but no train passengers were injured, according to NBC Connecticut.
