UPDATE: Metro-North has announced that service has resumed between Merritt 7 and South Norwalk after a car was struck by a train near Merritt 7.


DANBURY, CT — Metro-North service has been temporarily suspended on the Danbury branch after a car was struck by a train, railroad officials are reporting.

Service between South Norwalk and Wilton was affected when a car was struck near the Merritt Parkway.

"We are attempting to secure buses, but until they are secured and on scene, please consider alternate stations," Metro-North posted on X at 10:17 Wednesday morning.
