Minivan Struck Man Before Crashing Into Utility Pole: Danbury Fire
Osborne Street was closed for approximately one hour Sunday afternoon.

DANBURY, CT — Two people were hospitalized after a car struck a man doing yard work before crashing into a utility pole on Osborne Street Sunday afternoon, according to Assistant Fire Chief Mark Omasta of the Danbury Fire Department. In a press release Sunday, Omasta said firefighters responded to 136 Osborne Street at 1:19 p.m. to find that a minivan had run up on an embankment when it struck the pole and was "leaning precariously" with the driver inside.
Firefighters were able to stabilize the minivan and get the driver out of the car with a "rescue strut," Omasta said. Both people involved in the crash were transported and treated by the Danbury EMS, according to Omasta.
Osborne Street was closed for one hour due to the crash.
