Obituary: Ronald (Ronnie) Moore, 75, Of New Fairfield

NEW FAIRFIELD, CT – Ronald (Ronnie) Moore, 75, of New Fairfield, beloved husband of 53 years to Kathryn (Bessel) Moore, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 4, 2024, at Danbury Hospital.

Ron was born Dec. 5, 1948, in Mount Kisco, NY to the late Bruce and Gertude (Christian) Moore. He was the youngest of eight children. He served proudly with the United States Army.

Ron was a loving husband to Kathryn, and loving father to his two daughters. But his true pride and joy were his four grandchildren. Ron would spend hours talking with them about their activities and adventures, or teaching them how to fix and build something.

Over the years, Ron wore multiple hats. He was a mechanic since his teenage years. Later, he was introduced to the masonry trade by his late father-in-law Eric Bessel, leading to many years and opportunities to hone his craft. In his later years, he found enjoyment as a heavy construction equipment operator. He always enjoyed finding a new challenge to tackle or project to tinker with!

Ron was the kind of man who would drop everything to help his family and friends out with a problem or project.

Although his time here on earth did not seem long enough for his family, our dear Lord called him home, ending his pain and suffering from a prolonged illness. With that knowledge, they have peace.

Ron is survived by his devoted wife, daughters Lynda Pascone (Robert) of Southbury, Jennifer Soto (Pedro) of New Fairfield, and his grandchildren, Robert Pascone Jr, Emma Pascone, Madelyn Soto, and Michael Soto. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Marie Blaney, Wesley Moore, Robert Moore, and Margaret Borman, his sisters, and brothers-in-law Diane Dube (Tom) and Erica Strang (Tim) and his many, many nieces and nephews with whom he adored.

Besides Ron's parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Allen, John, and Paul Moore.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 18 at 11:00 a.m. at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in New Fairfield. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, New Fairfield.
