Walter Victor Johnson, 86, of Danbury, CT passed away at home on Sunday April 23, 2017 surrounded by his family. Husband of Loretta Elizabeth Mangini Johnson. Walter was born July 20, 1930 in Hoboken, NJ son of the late Oscar Victor Johnson and Alice Blumensteel Johnson.

Walter proudly served his Country for 20 years in the United States Navy Silent Service.
Entering civilian life he continued Government work for Norden in Norwalk CT and Consolidated Controls in Bethel, CT as an engineering aid.

Walter enjoyed being a member of the Hat City and Mystic carvers clubs. He enjoyed the outdoors, bicycling, hiking the Appalachian Trail, running marathons and spending time on the water kayaking and canoeing with his friends.

In addition to his loving wife, Loretta, Walter will be missed by his daughters: Kristie and her husband Jules, Karen, Suzanna and her husband Mike, Barbara and her husband David and Cynthia and her husband Craig; a son Gerard; 13 Grandchildren: Craig, Kyle, Kenny, Kara, Sara, Aaron, Hannahrose, Kevin, Allen, Samantha, Jake, Leah and Haley; and 10 Great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Lillian, Nora Maren, Savannah, Anabella, Delilah, Daniel, Penelope and Walter. Walter's sister Janet Passalacqua, nephew Christopher and niece Jennifer.

Per Walter's request, there are no services. Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury has been entrusted with arrangements.
