The Annie C. Courtney Foundation is reaching out to compassionate individuals who
are willing to open their hearts and homes to children and teenagers in foster
care across Connecticut. By becoming a caregiver, you can play a vital role in
helping a child and their family heal. With over 3,500 children and teens in
care (newborn-18), the need is urgent for individuals and families to consider
fostering.
Imagine the profound impact you can have by providing a nurturing, stable environment
for a child in need, offering them the love and support they deserve. By
opening your heart and home, you’re not only giving a child the chance to
thrive but also creating precious memories and experiences that will last a
lifetime. The bonds you form as a foster parent can instill hope and resilience
in a young life, helping them to see the world as a place filled with
possibilities. Your compassion can be the catalyst for positive change, and in
return, you'll find immense joy and fulfillment in watching a child grow and
flourish.
One licensed caregiver beautifully expresses, “I cannot believe I get to do this
job. The satisfaction I get comes from watching the kids I care for begin to
blossom. I love seeing their self-confidence grow. The most incredible moment
is when a child begins to feel safe and secure, and you can see the worry and
stress melt away.”

We understand that deciding to foster is a significant commitment. However, we
urgently need caring individuals for children of all ages, especially those on
the autism spectrum, as well as teenagers and sibling groups who long for a
stable and loving environment.
As a foster caregiver, you’ll be supported every step of the way and have access to
a wide range of resources. Foster families receive assistance with medical and
dental care, along with a daily stipend to help cover the costs of raising a
child. Regular visits from social workers ensure you and the child in your care
have ongoing support. Additional services are available for those children who
may need extra help.
