Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Motor Vehicle In Danbury

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a motor vehicle in Danbury Saturday evening, according to the Danbury Police Department.

DANBURY, CT — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a motor vehicle in Danbury Saturday evening, according to the Danbury Police Department.

At approximately 6:42 p.m. Danbury police officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle hitting a pedestrian in the area of Newtown Road and Eagle Road. First responders found the pedestrian lying in the roadway. The motorist remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police spokesperson Erin Henry.

The pedestrian was taken to the Danbury Hospital Emergency Room for treatment of severe and life-threatening injuries, but succumbed to their injuries on Sunday. Police have not yet identified the victim.

Newtown Road was closed for several hours while the Danbury Police Accident Investigation Team investigated.
