Pedestrian Struck In Crosswalk On WCSU Campus In Danbury: Police

DANBURY, CT — A pedestrian was struck by a car on White Street at the WCSU garage crosswalk early Sunday morning, according to a report from a police spokesperson.

The Danbury Police Department received the call at 12:45 a.m.

The pedestrian was crossing within the crosswalk with the signal lights flashing during a "heavy downpour," according to Erin Henry, when they were struck by a vehicle in the eastbound lane.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital. The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with officers, Henry said.
