Police ID Danbury Mom Of Young Child As Victim In Fatal Car Accident
The woman was taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment of severe and life-threatening injuries, but succumbed to her injuries Sunday.
DANBURY, CT — The community is mourning the death of the mother of a mother struck and killed by a motor vehicle while walking in the area of Newtown Road and Eagle Road this past weekend
Diana Malla, 37, was hit by a motorist around 6:40 Saturday evening. First responders found the Danbury resident lying in the roadway.
The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police spokesperson Erin Henry.

Malla's brother, Javier, and friend Eridania Martell have established a GoFundMe online fundraiser for the victim, whom they say leaves behind a small child. It has raised $4,700 of its $17,000 goal as of Monday afternoon.
