Rosa Maria (Huertas) Lopes, 95, worked as a teacher in Colombia for 35 years. She moved to the United States in 1985, worked for Danbury Hospital for 10 years, and then for several years at the Hispanic Center of Greater Danbury.

Nancy (Peeler) Remond, 77, always thought of others first and will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She loved to watch her grandchildren play sports, and watch sports on TV, especially the Dallas Cowboys.

Barbara Lloyd, 77, worked as an art teacher, copywriter, marketing communications manager, and head of an in-house communications agency. She particularly liked dinner with friends, great conversation, music, dancing, antiquing, history, and British mystery novels.

Maria Ivone DeSousa, 83, worked at Capital Factory of Danbury as a machine operator. She enjoyed taking care of her vegetable garden and cooking the traditional Portuguese foods chourica, cod fish balls and chourica bread.

Joseph D. Joudy, Sr., 95, was employed for 22 years with Davis and Geck as superintendent of Building Services and Security. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and crafting birdhouses.

Joyce C. Flanagan, 68, enjoyed a long and fruitful career as a music teacher at East Ridge Middle School and Ridgefield High School in Ridgefield. She would later serve as department head for music and the arts.
