From the Office of the Representative: State Rep. Michael Ferguson (R-138) visited King Street Primary School in Danbury this morning to read a book to a class of second-graders and promote the power of reading. Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2nd, which is Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Rep. Ferguson, who is a former student at King Street School, read a Dr. Seuss book to Miss Lorena Tesbir’s second grade class called One Vote, Two Votes, I Vote, You Vote, which explained how we vote, why we vote, and who we vote for in a way that children can understand.

“I was so grateful to have this opportunity to read to a class of second-graders in recognition of Read Across America Day, which seeks to inspire kids to love reading,” said Rep. Ferguson. “It made it even more special that I actually had Miss Tesbir as a second-grader at King Street School when I attended there.”
