On Thursday members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division with the assistance of the Community Conditions Unit and a Uniform Patrol officer executed court authorized search and seizure warrants for the residence located at 120 Triangle St, Unit 6, Danbury, and the person of Douglas Meireles, 25, of Triangle Street in Danbury, police announced in a news release.

The warrants were issued as a result of an investigation that began weeks earlier in response to citizen complaints in regard to Meireles selling illegal drugs within the City of Danbury, police said. Based on a surveillance of the residence and other investigative techniques, investigators were able to detect activity consistent with Meireles trafficking illegal drugs, police said.

Thursday evening, Meireles was stopped, while sitting in the passenger seat of a parked car located with the parking lot of 120 Triangle St, Danbury, police said. At that time, Meireles was found to be in possession of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs and placed under arrest, police said.
