Robert L. Lollie, Sr., 78, of Danbury, Passed Away
The U.S. Air Force Veteran had a 34-year career with the Danbury Police Department.
Danbury, CT — Retired Detective Robert L. Lollie, Sr. of Danbury, beloved husband of the late Shirley (Onorato) Lollie, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, June 14th. A lifelong Danbury resident, he was born on September 1, 1937, son of the late Louis and Rose (Gabriele) Lollie.
Robert was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving stateside at the conclusion of the Korean War. His commitment to service continued through his 34 year career with the Danbury Police Department, retiring in 2000.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Catholic War Veterans and was one of the founding member of the Danbury Police Athletic League. He was once honored by Amerigo Vespucci Lodge #160 and Colonna Lodge #184 as Man of the Year.

A devoted family man, he was happiest when spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley was the love of his life and the family takes comfort in knowing the two are together once again.
He will be sadly missed by his six cherished children, Francis W. Lollie (Rebecca), Catherine Adams, Karen Lollie, Barbara Tucker (Anthony), Robert Lollie, Jr., and Marianne Flanagan (Charles); his ten grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Andrew Lollie, Richard Adams (Gina), Chad Robert Lollie, Michelle Tucker, Victoria, Katie, Charles and Hunter Flanagan; and his two great grandchildren, Kayla Ann Adams and Chase Robert Lollie. He is also survived by his sisters, Marianne Kozak (Joseph), and Adelaide Passaro; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Francis, Joseph and Louis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 21st at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury. Cremation and interment will take place privately.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday, June 20th between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fraternal Order Police Survivors Fund.
