St. Joseph First Grade Teacher Martina M. Federici Passed Away

Ms. Federici lived in Bethel and taught first grade at St. Joseph's School in Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — Martina M. Federici peacefully went home to Our Lord on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center. She was lovingly cared for at Mt. St. Vincent's in Holyoke where she resided since 2013. Martina was born in Norwalk, CT on February 20, 1940 to Anna (Howley) and Anthony Federici along with her twin brother Martin Federici who died in 2013.

She is survived by her brother Deacon Paul Federici and his wife Mary of Westfield; her three nieces, Lisa, Janet and Beth and two great-nephews. For most of her life, Martina lived in Bethel, CT and taught first grade at St. Joseph's School in Danbury. She earned her Master's degree from Western State College. She retired early due to significant health issues which she faced for over 25 years.

Friends and family are invited to gather directly at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd. in Westfield, for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016. Calling hours are Thursday, 4-7 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield. Burial will be a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Youth Pilgrimage (OLBS-Youth Rome).
