Stew Leonard's In Danbury Recalls Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread
39 units of the mislabelled bread were sold in Stew Leonard's bakery between Sept. 26 and Oct. 2, at the store's Danbury location.
DANBURY, CT — Stew Leonard’s is voluntarily recalling its Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread because the product may contain walnuts that are not mentioned on the packaging.
The company gave customers the heads-up in a release Thursday.
Thirty-nine units of the product were sold in Stew Leonard’s bakery department between Sept. 26 and Oct. 2, at the store's Danbury location only.

The store issued the recall after a customer discovered that a loaf of Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread contained walnuts that were not flagged on the label.
The company has warned that people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

No illnesses have been reported to date.
Consumers who have purchased this bread are urged to discard it or bring it back to Stew Leonard’s Customer Service desk in Danbury for a full refund.
