2-Hour Delay In Effect At Darien Elementary School: Superintendent

This is the second time this week a Darien school has opened under a two-hour delay due to a power outage.

DARIEN, CT — A two-hour delay is in effect at Tokeneke Elementary School Wednesday due to a power outage, according to Superintendent Dr. Eric Byrne.

The power has since been restored, and the school will open as planned after the delay. Byrne said in an update the power outage was caused by an animal climbing on nearby power lines.

This is the second time this week a school in Darien has operated under a two-hour delay because of a power outage caused by an animal on wires.
