DARIEN, CT — Over the span of a week, there have been three incidents in which racial slurs were found scrawled on property at Middlesex Middle School, according to outgoing Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alan Addley.

Addley alerted families and staff last week about the latest discovery which was made on May 22, although he didn't say where it was found.

Earlier this month, racial slurs were found written on a student's desk and in a 7th grade boys bathroom.

"While these repeated acts are deeply disconcerting, they only strengthen our determination to confront hate and to continue fostering a school environment rooted in respect, empathy, and inclusion," Addley said.

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, the Darien police chief, and the Chief State’s Attorney’s Office held an event titled "Stop Hate Together" last week, and Addley thanked the community for attending.
