DARIEN, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Catherine McNear who nominated Janice Marzano of Darien, who is the program director at the Depot Youth Center.

Reason for recognition: She led the youth of our community, those involved in the many clubs at The Depot, to give back in a great variety of ways from collecting food for food banks, helping build awareness of increases incidences of domestic violence, honoring first responders

One thing to know: She is an angel who cares so much about supporting the youth of our community!
