Back To School: Darien 2025-26 School Calendar

DARIEN, CT — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Darien, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Darien Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year.

The first day of school for students in Darien is Wednesday, Aug. 27.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

• Labor Day: Sept. 1 - Schools Closed
• Professional Learning Communities: Sept. 12 - Late Start for grades 9-12, Early Dismissal Literacy (K-5)
• Rosh Hashanah: Sept. 23 - Schools Closed
• Yom Kippur: Oct. 2 - Schools Closed
• Professional Learning Communities: Oct. 10 - Late Start for grades 9-12, Early Dismissal Literacy (K-5)
• Elementary Parent Conferences: Oct. 21-24, Oct. 28
• Staff Professional Development: Nov. 4 - No school for students
• Professional Learning Communities: Nov. 14 - Late start for grades 9-12
• Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 26-28
• Professional Learning Communities: Dec. 12 - Late Start for grades 9-12, Early Dismissal Literacy (K-5)
• HHR Early Dismissal: Dec. 22

If schools are closed due to weather, additional days will be added to the end of the school year.

The Board of Education will determine the Darien High School graduation date no later than the first regular meeting in April
