Darien 2024 Election Results: Winners Revealed In Key Races
Darien residents hit the polls on Tuesday to vote in several key races.

DARIEN, CT — Residents in Darien hit the polls on Tuesday to vote in several races, including the office of President, U.S. senator, Congress, state representative and state senate, and more.
Shortly after the polls closed Vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.
Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.

U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, D-4th, won re-election and a ninth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, according to the Associated Press. He defeated Republican challenger Dr. Michael Goldstein and Independent candidate Benjamin Wesley.
State Sen. Bob Duff (D-25) declared victory over Republican challenger Martin Tagliaferro, Darien Times reported. The 25th State House District covers portions of Darien and Norwalk.

Incumbent state Sen. Ceci Maher (D-26) declared victory over Republican challenger Kami Evans, Norwalk Hour reported. The district covers parts of Darien, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.
State Sen. Pat Billie Miller holds a commanding lead in the 27th State Senate District, which covers Stamford and Darien, with 22,303 votes to Republican Nicola Tarzia's 12,409. Votes from Darien have yet to be added, the CT Secretary of State website shows.
Darien Times reported that Democrat Joanna Walsh and Republicans David Brown and Robin Nelson were elected to the Darien Board of Education, according to unofficial results.
The Stamford Advocate reported that incumbent Republican state Rep. Tracy Marra defeated Democratic challenger Sheila Quinn in the 141st State House District.
State Rep. Tom O'Dea has won re-election and a seventh term against Democratic challenger Jason Bennett in the 125th State House District, according to unofficial results. The district covers New Canaan, North Stamford and Darien.
Also on the ballot Tuesday, residents voted "yes" on the ballot question, "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?" according to Hearst.
Darien residents also voted for candidates for the Representative Town Meeting.
