Darien Election Results 2022: Residents Make Their Voices Heard
Thousands of Darien residents went to the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes in important local, state and federal races.

Results are unofficial.
DARIEN, CT — Democrats picked up victories in Darien on Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Connecticut Secretary of State website.
Incumbent state Sen. Bob Duff (D-25), who also serves as the Senate Majority Leader, has been re-elected to a ninth term in office. He totaled 15,572 votes, and Republican challenger Daniel Miressi totaled 9,807 votes. Additionally, Independent Party candidate Lisa Brinton received 1,290 votes.

The 25th District covers all of Norwalk and a portion of Darien.
A spokesperson for Duff told Patch that Duff was "grateful to the voters of Norwalk and Darien for having the trust to return him for another two year term."

Tracy Marra won a seat in the 141st House District. Marra, a Republican, ran unopposed. She replaces Terrie Wood, who has served since 2009.
Pat Billie Miller won re-election in the race for the 27th State Senate District. The district covers a portion of Stamford and Darien.
The Connecticut Secretary of State website showed Miller with 14,376 votes. Battinelli had 8,151.
Before being elected to the State Senate last year in a special election, Miller served as a State Representative for the 145th Assembly District, and also served on the Stamford Board of Representatives.
Battinelli is a Stamford firefighter.
Democrat Ceci Maher, a resident of Wilton, has won the 26th State Senate District seat against Republican Toni Boucher, according to a tweet from the Connecticut Democrats.
The 26th district includes Westport, Wilton, Weston, Redding and parts of Ridgefield, Darien, New Canaan and Stamford.
Maher was previously appointed a member of the Wilton Board of Finance in 2018, and lost in a race for the board of selectmen in 2019.
Boucher tried to reclaim her seat in the 26th district after she was beat by Westport Democrat Will Haskell in 2018. Haskell chose not to seek re-election in order to attend law school.
Republican incumbent Tom O'Dea squeaked out a win over Democratic challenger Victor Alvarez in the 125th House District race. Unofficial results show O'Dea with 5,802 votes, and Alvarez with 5,016.
Along with local, state and federal political races, Darien residents also voted for board of education members on Election Day.
Newcomer and Democrat Kadiatu Lublin has been elected to the school board. She was a petitioned candidate.
Incumbent board member and Republican Jill McCammon was elected for a third term, and John R. Sini Jr., also a Republican, will head back for a second term.
Lublin has been a volunteer within the school district for many years, most recently on the Ox Ridge Building Committee and as chair of the Special Education Subcommittee for the Council of Darien School Parents. She is also a former co-chair of the Ox Ridge Parent Teacher Organization. Lublin will replace board member Tara Ochman.
McCammon was the top vote getter with 926 votes, followed by Sini at 873, and Lublin at 197.
