DARIEN, CT — Theatre 308, Darien High School’s student theater group, will present John Cariani’s "Almost, Maine" this November, bringing stories of love, friendship, and human connection to the stage.
Performances will take place Nov. 13–15 at 7 p.m. in the DHS Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for students and seniors and $20 for adults and are available at theatre308.org.
The two-act play is composed of nine vignettes set in the fictional town of Almost, Maine, where ordinary people experience moments of love, heartbreak, sadness, and hope beneath the northern lights.

Similar in structure to "The Dining Room," performed by Theatre 308 in fall 2023, the show gives audiences a series of intimate, character-driven stories that explore the complexities of relationships.
"This show not only highlights our huge talent pool, but it also gives students valuable acting experience that will help them thrive as performers beyond DHS," said director Nick Kuell in a news release. "There’s beauty in a show that reminds us to find magic in the mundane. 'Almost, Maine' reminds us that exceptional things happen every day. That simple message is the difference between just getting through the day and really living it, and I hope audiences feel that same affirmation and optimism."

Under Kuell’s direction, Theatre 308 students have spent two months preparing the production, which features unique costumes, props, and lighting created by student designers and crew.
Each 10- to 15-minute vignette features two or three actors.
The production continues Theatre 308’s tradition of student-led creativity and collaboration, offering what organizers describe as an unforgettable evening of heartfelt performances under the glow of Maine’s northern lights.
