DARIEN, CT — One of Darien's own had a strong showing on a recent episode of "Jeopardy!", although it wasn't enough to take home the victory.

Liv Markham, a localization producer and a graduate of Darien High School, earned $3,400 and a third place finish after appearing on the popular game show during an episode that aired on June 20.

Defending champion Bevin Blaber, from Schenectady, N.Y. ($6,801) was unseated by Andrew Brigger of Roseville, Minn., who won $16,000 and the first game of the summer season.

Overall, Markham had nine correct responses and just two incorrect responses over the course of the game. She responded correctly to a Daily Double clue worth $1,200.

During introductions in which the audience meets the contestants, Markham revealed that one of her ancestors was a pirate.

"On my mom's father's side we have an ancestor who was a pirate. He was based out of New Orleans; his name was Jacinto, and he was apparently a colleague of Black Beard's," Markham shared. "Pretty interesting lineage there."

According to her LinkedIn profile, Markham graduated from DHS in 2012, and she attended Connecticut College. She also studied abroad at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Her profile notes she currently works for Apple.
