Darien, New Canaan Turkey Bowl 2025: Here's What To Know

DARIEN, CT — With Thanksgiving comes the annual Turkey Bowl game between the Darien Blue Wave and the New Canaan Rams - a matchup steeped in history and tradition.

Kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, from New Canaan High School's Dunning Stadium. The Blue Wave is looking to bounce back from a 34-0 loss in last year's Turkey Bowl.

Turkey Bowl 2025

Darien enters the 31st Turkey Bowl game coming off a 35-14 loss to Greenwich on Nov. 14. Darien is 6-3 overall on the year, including 4-3 against teams in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Conference.

New Canaan will look to complete an undefeated regular season. At 9-0, the Rams have outscored their opponent 280-57 this year.

In their most recent game on Nov. 14, New Canaan defeated Trumbull 42-13.

The Rivalry

While the tradition of playing each other on Thanksgiving goes back to 1994, the rivalry between Darien and New Canaan football stretches all the way back to 1928.

Of the 100 games played between the two schools over the years, New Canaan holds the advantage with an all-time record of 59-39-2.

The Rams have won seven straight Turkey Bowl matchups since 2017.
