Darien Police Have An Important Message For Residents

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department is reminding residents to lock their car doors following recent vehicle thefts and burglaries in town.

"Over the past few weeks, multiple vehicles have been entered, many of which were left unlocked with keys inside," police said in a social media post Friday. "Protect your belongings and help us keep our community safe. Please remember to lock your doors and remove your keys!"

Recently, three vehicles were reported stolen on the same day from the Noroton Bay neighborhood.

Det. Sgt. Vigil Mauricio told Patch the department received reports that a 2012 Land Rover, 2021 Mercedes-Benz and a Chevrolet Trailblazer were stolen from Mayflower Road and Waverly Road on Nov. 4 around 3 a.m.

The vehicles were later recovered in Bridgeport and Darien, Mauricio said, noting an investigation is ongoing.
