Darien Public Schools Fill Numerous Positions, Experience Lowest Teacher Vacancy Rate In 10 Years
Here is a look at all the available jobs listed by the public schools and how to apply for them.
DARIEN, CT — In an update, the Darien Public Schools had 33 teaching positions to fill over the summer, which is the lowest vacancy rate in the past 10 years, top school officials said.
Of those 33 teaching positions, 30 were filled prior to the beginning of the school year.
Two positions are currently unfilled, a school psychologist at the high school, and a special education teacher.

Earlier this summer, 23 paraprofessional positions were vacant and 19 have been filled so far, and two HVAC positions also remain unfilled.
A previous version of this story contained outdated information. It had appeared that there were still 53 open positions in the district, but that is not correct. In reality, there are a handful of positions which remain unfilled, according to top officials.
