Darien's Annual Flag Day Ceremony Set For June 14

Residents are encouraged to attend and bring their old flags for proper retirement.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Monuments and Ceremonies Commission along with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6933 will take part in the town's annual Flag Day ceremony which has been scheduled for Friday, June 14, at 5 p.. at Veterans Circle in front of Town Hall.

During the ceremony, attendees will recite the poem "I Am Your Flag," according to a social media post from the town.

The Darien Selectmen and the VFW Color Guard will participate. Old flags will be collected and retired and a new flag will be presented and hung on the Town Hall flagpole.

VFW members will then execute a ceremonial flag folding.
