The Depot’s 'Overstuffed Turkey Trot' Upcoming In Darien: Details
Darien's biggest road race is back for 2025, offering residents a post-Thanksgiving race and a fundraiser for the town's youth center.
DARIEN, CT — The Depot’s Overstuffed Turkey Trot will return for its third year on Nov. 28, offering Darien residents a post-Thanksgiving road race and a fundraiser for the town’s youth center.
The morning event will begin with a 1-mile fun run and walk at 10 a.m., followed by a 5K race at 10:30 a.m. The courses will run through the Darien High School cross country trail. Festivities will include live music from DHS alumni band, SPF, along with bagels, coffee and a hot cocoa bar from Cosmo’s Bagels & Café.
A raffle will offer prizes including gift cards to Roots Ocean Prime and Darien Chamber of Commerce town-wide gift cards. New this year are the "Gobble Games," a series of children’s activities and competitions such as face painting, slime making, cornhole and hula hoop contests, hosted by The Depot’s Student Governing Board for an additional fee.

Registration is $45 for adults and $25 for children ages 6 to 12, while those 5 and under may participate for free. Organizers are encouraging residents to run, cheer or volunteer.
"The Depot is thrilled to host its 3rd annual Overstuffed Turkey Trot. Every year the race grows; however, it is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of community," said The Depot Executive Director Amy Daniels in a news release. "Nothing brings people together like the holidays, and we’re proud to host an event that supports youth programs while giving families a fun, healthy way to kick off their Thanksgiving weekend."
