Details On Darien's 2023 Spring Paving Program Released

DARIEN, CT — Darien has released details on the 2023 spring paving program, which is set to begin on April 6.

The town postponed the paving program last summer, citing high costs, and instead said paving would take place in early spring 2023 with a focus on roads near schools. Paving will also take place this summer.

The spring program schedule is as follows:

The above schedule is based on favorable weather conditions, the town said. Emergency access will be available at all times, and Darien police officers will be present to direct traffic and assist residents during construction.

Driveway access will be limited during paving operations, however, no single driveway should be closed for more than an hour, the town said.

On-street parking will be suspended during paving operations, and minor traffic delays are likely.

Prep work will precede paving on all of the above roads. Road surfaces will have raised structures during these dates, and there may be some inactivity on some roads between milling and paving. Motorists should avoid these roads if possible during these times.
