Stefanoni’s lawsuit garnered a significant amount of buzz in Darien and around Connecticut earlier this month after he claimed his son, then 9, was demoted to a lower-level little league team after he filed an affordable housing development near a former league official’s house, NBC Connecticut reports.

The lawsuit dates back to 2010, which is when he filed the affordable housing plan. Stefanoni also alleged in his suit, which a judge dismissed, that Darien residents and officials oppose affordable housing because they don’t want black people to move into town.

Darien and little league officials have blasted Stefanoni’s claims. Little league officials say Stefanoni’s son was erroneously placed on a higher team and that was simply corrected, while Darien officials say they’ve worked to add more affordable housing in town.
