Kids Get Creative in New Art Explorations Class at Darien Arts Center

Darien, CT – September 11, 2025 – The Darien Arts Center (DAC) is inviting young artists in grades 1–3 to unleash their creativity this fall in its Art Explorations class. Running from September 16 through December 16, this engaging course meets on Tuesdays from 3:45–4:45 p.m. at the DAC.

In Art Explorations, budding artists will learn the basic techniques of multiple art forms while experimenting with a wide variety of materials such as watercolor, pastels, and ink. Students will explore themes inspired by nature, family, sports, animals, and more, all while emphasizing the importance of expressing their own unique creativity. With imagination at the center of the class, children will be encouraged to try new approaches, take risks in their artwork, and create pieces that reflect their individuality.

“This class is a wonderful opportunity for children to build confidence while having fun with art,” said DAC Visual Arts Director Lisa Koorbusch. “We focus on exploration and expression, not perfection.”

Parents are encouraged to send their children dressed for mess as students dive into hands-on projects.
