Local Florist Set To Host Holiday Shopping Event Benefiting Darien EMS Post 53

Guests can expect an evening of holiday cheer, floral demonstrations, live entertainment, a raffle, and more.

DARIEN, CT — Nielsen’s Florist & Garden Shop will host its annual holiday shopping event on Thursday, Nov. 13, to support Darien EMS–Post 53.

The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Nielsen’s, located at 1405 Post Road, with early access at 5 p.m. for guests 65 and older.

Guests can expect an evening of holiday cheer featuring live music from the Darien High School Tudor Singers, floral-arranging demonstrations, food provided by Michael Joseph’s Fine Foods, and wine provided by Sipstirs.

The evening will also include a raffle featuring two of Nielsen’s signature holiday planters and other prizes from local businesses.

Proceeds from raffle ticket sales and a portion of ticket sales will go toward supporting Post 53’s operations.

All attendees will receive a 10 percent discount on purchases made during the event, and Nielsen’s will donate 10 percent of sales to benefit Post 53.

"We’re so grateful to Nielsen’s and to our community for their continued support," said Post 53 Executive Director Joe Larcheveque in a news release. "Events like this help make it possible for our high school and adult EMTs to continue providing exceptional emergency care to the people of Darien every day."

Raya Ward, general manager at Nielsen’s Florist & Garden Shop, said the collaboration reflects the town’s strong community spirit.

"We’re thrilled to partner with Post 53 again this year," Ward said. "Supporting their mission is part of what makes Darien special — neighbors helping neighbors. We look forward to welcoming guests for a festive evening filled with flowers, music, and giving."
