DARIEN, CT — Cash was stolen from a motor vehicle and another vehicle was reported stolen on the same day in Darien late last month, according to police.

On Oct. 27 at approximately 2:56 a.m., officers responded to Hamilton Lane for a report of a possible theft from a motor vehicle in progress, police noted in a crime summary update Tuesday.

Officers canvassed the area but did not locate any suspects, police said, noting an investigation found cash was taken from an unlocked vehicle.

Later that morning at approximately 6:37 a.m., officers went to a home on nearby Woods End Road on a report of a stolen 2024 Kia Telluride.

The SUV, which was unlocked with keys and a wallet inside, was stolen during the overnight hours, police said.

The vehicle was later recovered in New Haven. Police did not announce any arrests.
