New Concert Event 'Tenor And Bass Showcase' Coming To Darien High School
The purpose of the showcase is to celebrate tenor and bass ensembles and to encourage more tenors and basses to get involved with chorus.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Public Schools Music Department and Darien Music for Youth will present a new concert event titled "Tenor and Bass Showcase" on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. in the Darien High School auditorium.
The concert will highlight low voice singers, also known as tenors and basses. The purpose of the showcase is to celebrate tenor and bass ensembles and to encourage more tenors and basses to get involved with chorus in Darien Public Schools.
This fun and engaging family concert will feature the DHS Concert Choir and Tudor Singers Combined Men’s Choir, the DHS Barbershop Quartet, and special guest performers The Yale Spizzwinks.

The Spizzwinks are America’s oldest underclassmen a cappella group. The concert will culminate with a group song featuring singers in grades 4-12 from across DPS.
Tickets to Tenor and Bass Showcase are $10 per person, or a maximum of $20 per family. Proceeds will benefit Darien Music for Youth, a group that provides music enrichment opportunities and scholarships to DPS students.

The concert is free for performers and all DPS students and staff. Tickets can be purchased online here.
Performing with the Spizzwinks will be DHS alum John Raskopf (‘23). Raskopf is a freshman at Yale University studying music and mechanical engineering. He is already making waves at Yale as a composer, and he recently won the 2023 Fenno Heath Award.
Raskopf's new song, "Hark! The Bark of Dear Old Dan," premiered at the Harvard-Yale combined Glee Club concert earlier this month.
